"Noodles City" ?
How about Noodle City? Noodle Cities? City Chinese in Gordon? Gordon Noodles not in the City?
This is, as the other reviewers say, a really greats places. Don't go for a Mr Wong experiences, just expects superbs standards Chinese favourites such as BBQ Porks (ask for extra sauce - it is fantastics), steamed chickens and BBQ Duck...s.
OK perhaps laboured that a bit.
Laksa is killer. Not sure how it wound up here but don't look a gift duck in the mouth ('cos someone will have eaten its tongue). I see someone else maintains it is Singaporean, that might explain it but it has a more Chinese menu than anything else. Don't be put off - its not one of those places that tries to be every country in Asia. I'm looking at you China Doll and Noodle Blast!... Noodles Blast ?
The thing is - it never changes, its always great. It's the first thing I look forward to when we've been out of town for a while. Its just so comfortable and plain delicious.
Like mum's cooking except Chinese.
Righto, done my reviews. I'm off to Din Tai Fung.
Update Nov 2012. Guess what ? - Danny has changed the name ! Its now "Noodle City" like it should have been in the first place. The power of Yelp and a smartarse reviewer! -

I don't live near Gordon so I don't come here often. It had been a couple of years between my visit on last Friday and the one prior to that.
I was pretty sure things had changed a lot there as soon as I walked in, not only because the prices had gone up a lot, but because the owner/waiter spoke Mandarin not Cantonese. But since the noodle shop I used to frequent was closed down and I was craving roast duck that day, I chose to have a roast duck noodle soup there.
The roast duck turned out to be an utter disappoinment. It had absolutely no flavour whatsoever. I just could not think of anything I could compliment about the food I was served.
Note that I am giving one star based on the only one dish I had there, although I have no faith in any other food on their menu... -

I decided to check out Noodle City on the recommendation of a friend. I strolled in at midday on my lunch break on a weekday and the place was packed! Apparently everyone in the area knows the secret.
Luckily I was on my own so I got a little table near the counter. immediately I had a menu, a complimentary green tea and a small complimentary soup. After seeing the BBQ ducks hanging in the window I couldn't go past the BBQ Duck Soup. A generous serving of egg noodles and Chinese greens in a big bowl of fairly simple broth, topped off with what must have been almost half a duck! I could hardly get through all the food. It came with a soy dipping sauce and I loaded on the chilli.
The food here is simple, delicious and GENEROUS (although I've only tried one dish!). The staff are efficient and friendly. If you're coming with a group I would recommend calling ahead for a table -

Danny and Mabel who own Noodles City serve good, honest and tasty Asian in Gordon and at very reasonable prices. With the Ducks and BBQ Pork hanging in the front window you could be anywhere in Asia .My favorite entrees (starter) would have to be Sang Choy Bow or Hot and Sour Soup. Of the mains , I have a few that are great, Chilli Salt and Pepper Squid or Cod , Seafood laksa, Black Pepper Beef Ho-fun, Char Kwei du and Szechuan King Prawns. I always take some BBQ Pork home to have in the fridge for soup, lunches, stir fries and just snacking on.
The resturant is not large and so it is advisable to book especially if it is a friday, saturday or sunday night. You will not be dissappointed.
